Unimed Government Services Completes Prestigious Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program
Certified woman-owned small business gains practical tools to increase revenue
Concord, Mass and LAKEVILLE, Minn.—December 17, 2019—Unimed Government Services (UGS), a distributor of best-in-class dental, medical, safety and infection control solutions, announced today that its chief executive officer graduated as part of the National Fall 2019 Cohort of Goldman Sachs’ 10,000 Small Businesses program. The program, developed by and headquartered at Babson College in Waltham, Mass., provides practical business education, support services and access to capital to help growth-minded businesses create jobs and increase revenue.
“We are proud and honored to have completed this rigorous but rewarding program,” said Judith Manchester, chief executive officer for UGS, who graduated along with 140 participants from 37 states and U.S. territories, including Guam. “From one-on-one business advising to the opportunity to learn from other entrepreneurs from across the country, the Goldman program provided practical, comprehensive and highly effective business tools. We look forward to applying everything we learned to help us grow, all while remaining true to the core values behind our decade of proven success.”
Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses provides business owners with access to education, capital and business support services. To date, more than 9,100 business owners have graduated from the program across all 50 states in the U.S., Puerto Rico and Washington, DC. 10,000 Small Business Graduates consistently create jobs at rates that outperform the broader economy. The program is guided by an advisory council on which Babson President Kerry Healey serves, and is co-chaired by Goldman Sachs chairman and CEO Lloyd C. Blankfein; Bloomberg L.P. founder, president, and CEO, and 108th Mayor of the City of New York Michael R. Bloomberg; Berkshire Hathaway chairman and CEO Warren Buffett; and the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City’s Michael Porter.
